POWER OF THE MASSES

WHAT LEADERS FEAR
But shall we say, ‘From men’?”—they were afraid of the people, for everyone considered John to have been a real prophet. Mark 11:32 NASB1995
But shall we say, ‘From men?’ ” —they were afraid [to answer because] of the crowd, for everyone considered John to have been a real prophet. Mark 11:32 AMP
GOOD DAY. Leaders all over the world fear mob action in the natural world. They get scared and change their course when the multitude begin to gather against a policy or something that they do. One thing invokes a gathering of the people. It is when they believe and feel the same way about life.
A physical gathering together does not avail much but a spiritual one cautions leaders from doing evil. The saying goes that a stitch in time saves nine. To nations where the people are suffering in the hands of corrupt leaders, the stitch that will save further decay is to change what the people believe. If the people can detest corruption in their personal lives, then they will become a force of change and caution for the leaders. Jesus took advantage of this principle to silence the Pharisees. Corrupt leaders also use this to their advantage when they go campaign to the masses promising sweet things they know that they cannot deliver. When a leader can convince the masses that he is their messiah, they will go with him.
A wise leader assesses the belief of the people and plays around it to prolong his reign or get support for his ruling party. IT IS NOT YOUR VOTE THAT KEEPS A LEADER IN POWER, IT IS THE MASS BELIEF AND STANDARDS
Look at Herod here too
So Herod wanted John dead, but he was afraid of the crowds who flocked to John because they considered him to be a prophet. Matthew 14:5 TPT.
He wanted to kill John the Baptist but because of the crowds, he became cautious. Leaders are mindful of the belief of the multitude.
Look at Pilate here too: When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this Man’s blood; see to that yourselves.” Matthew 27:24 NASB1995
Though he did not want to hand Jesus over to be killed, because of the crowd, he did it.
The leader is a mirror of what his subjects accept and want.
The masses can decide how they wish to be governed by what they believe as good and bad and living such out in their individual lives. When righteousness becomes the belief and lifestyle of the masses, it becomes difficult to be challenged by the leadership. Let each one of us live by the right code of conduct that promotes peace, love and joy honesty, transparency then our leaders will dare not feed us with the contrary. Mass belief is a force that leaders reckon with.
PRAY: Dear Lord, let there be a revival where faith in your word will be our lifestyle.
