UNDERSTANDING DEPRESSION 2. (The Spiritual side)
And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who passionately seek him.

GOOD DAY: The first step in understanding the spirituality in depression is to check your relationship with God. The soul of man has a center point to which it gravitates. The default center point since after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden is the world whose prince is Satan. He became the prince of the world after taking man’s authority so the nature of man is to gravitate towards him. You only give what you have; Satan has no peace so he never gives man’s soul peace and lack of peace is the root of depression. For you to have peace, you need to have a relationship with the Prince of Peace who is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. A relationship begins with accepting Him for who He is. He is the Saviour of world. If you accept Him as the Saviour of your soul, and have a relationship with Him by faith, then you will begin to groom the relationship. You do this through reading His word the Bible and obeying what you see in it from your heart with the help of the Holy Spirit who He puts in you to guide you. As you make Jesus the centre of your life, you are setting the foundation for preventing yourself from depression or preventing its recurrence if you have it. Tomorrow, we shall see how to anchor your soul in Jesus so that you will not be shaken by the wind of events of life to the point of falling into depression.
