LIVING IN DIVINE HEALTH (1)
“Then the tempter approached Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” But He answered, “It is written: Man must not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”” Matthew 4:3-4 HCSB
GOOD DAY: The popular money-making business these days is the health industry. Recently, a big pharmacy company announced that it is withdrawing its COVID-19 vaccine because the demand for it is low after it has made so much money off it. Doctors are cashing in on various common diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure. They start advertising like they want to give you an insight into food and lifestyle measures that you should adopt but at the end, they tell you their special formulation to cure the disease but at a price.
Jesus Christ gives us the secret to living well and it is attainable to anyone who will believe. It is; man does not live on bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
Let us see what the word of God says about food. “Eat everything that is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience’ sake, for the earth is the Lord’s, and all that is in it.” 1 Corinthians 10:25-26
This is important now because man through technology is altering virtually every food that is available in the market. He is subduing the earth thus fulfilling his mandate from God. But this is what you should do to your food before eating it. “They forbid marriage and demand abstinence from foods that God created to be received with gratitude by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing should be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, since it is sanctified by the word of God and by prayer.”
1 Timothy 4:3-5 HCSB. Food should be sanctified by the word of God and prayer. Herein comes your faith.
This is why it is not only important but mandatory that all of us should have good knowledge of the word of God, be familiar with His voice to us and know to pray always. Work on your faith and if you cannot, follow the word of scientists alone. Think about this today, map out your strategy to know the word and prayer then purpose to follow through with it to develop your faith.
PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, I ask that you make your voice clear to me so I can follow You in whatever I do. Help my faith in You as I take my baby steps.
