SECRET TO SPIRITUAL GROWTH
“When they could not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem to search for Him. Finally, after three days they found Him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.” Luke 2:45-46 BSB
GOOD DAY: When we were in school, we were encouraged to listen in class, ask questions and answer questions from our teachers and mates. At the close of the class, the teacher would give us homework to do for some extra studies at home. Once we practiced, we gained more understanding and became proficient at applying the knowledge.
It is the same way that we should study the word of God so it will become our nature. When we are taught anything from the word of God, we should ask questions and if it is where we can pro-act with the teacher we should if not, write the question down and allow the Holy Spirit to talk to our mind see how you can apply what you have learned to life situations. This is how you can grow in the spirit. With these daily devotions, only few people use the comment section, more send Whats App replies but most don’t even respond at all. That is not how to take in the truths. Jesus Christ did the same thing. Sat with the teachers, listened and asked questions. We have to engage all our faculties in reading and digesting the word of God so the word will become flesh. Also doing this makes us sensitive in the spirit to know good from bad and deception from truth. Every teaching and testimony will be filtered by the word in us just as it did when Satan tempted Jesus.
