YOUR TONGUE YOUR STEERING WHEEL
“Horses have bits and bridles in their mouths so that we can control and guide their large body. And the same with mighty ships, though they are massive and driven by fierce winds, yet they are steered by a tiny rudder at the direction of the person at the helm. And so the tongue is a small part of the body yet it carries great power! Just think of how a small flame can set a huge forest ablaze. And the tongue is a fire! It can be compared to the sum total of wickedness and is the most dangerous part of our human body. It corrupts the entire body and is a hellish flame! It releases a fire that can burn throughout the course of human existence.” James ch 3:3-6 TPT
GOOD DAY: If you have not seen a ship or horse before, you have seen a truck or trailer as we call them or a petrol tanker. Big as they are, their steering wheels are very small. The modern ones have steering wheels smaller than that of a car. Small as the steering wheel is compared to the size of the truck, it is used to direct where it goes. That is how your is tongue to your life.
If you can decide how and where you want your life to be, then you can set your tongue on that destination and not change it with the tide of life. In spite of knowing the impact good and bad words spoken by others have on our moods, we still fail to appreciate the importance of our tongues enough to tame it. You are the one at the steering of your life. You decide where the truck called your life heads to. Anybody can say anything about your life, until you agree and say the same thing with the person, his words are of no effect on your life. The world or national economy can be bad yet there are people who still live their lives smoothly without feeling the pinch though they are not rich. Watch those people, they never join the masses to speak according to what the situation presents. They may sound odd to listeners or sometimes even to themselves but as they persist, they are instructed from within on what to do. KEEP YOUR TONGUE IN CHECK FOR IT IS THE INSTRUMENT THAT DIRECTS YOUR LIFE.
PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I need You. Help me to control my tongue that I may not sin against You and against myself.

We really l think do not appreciate the impact our utterances have on our lives. I pray personally for the grace to think before l speak and more importantly for the discipline to align my mouth with the Word as guided by the Holy Spirit in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
