PUT AWAY THE STRANGE gods
“So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Get rid of every foreign god you have, purify yourselves, and change your clothes. Then come with me; let us go up to Bethel. I will build an altar there to God who answered my prayer when I was in distress and whose presence has been with me wherever I have gone.””Genesis 35:2–3 TPT
GOOD DAY: Welcome to the last day of 2024. We are at the gate of a new season, or new dispensation called 2025. It is a brand new canvas that you have not painted on so for anyone planning to meet and travel with our Lord Jesus Christ the Son and perfect image of God the Father, it is time to drop all strange gods and heavy baggage that we are carrying. You don’t have any visible baggage but your heart has a lot. From this morning, and as we are all waiting for the clock to tick into 2025, begin to drop each one and purpose to not reach back and drag them in again.
What is included in the baggage?
- Unforgiveness. It is so heavy with some people that the offences of many years back are still in their hearts and they relive the matter and feel the pains again. Drop it today.
- Lack of contentment. Some are carrying the burden of lack of contentment keeping them worrying and always striving to be like others. It blinds their eyes from seeing goodness in their lives. Drop it to walk with God.
- Fear. Some are carrying a burden of fear. Fear of everything and anything. Drop your fears. Whatever happens, Jesus is there with you. Fear is a major load that limits us in doing good. When you move with Jesus, you overcome fear.
- Idolatry. Although we do not carve wood or metal as idols now, we have human idols in our hearts. Many homes have been broken because either of the couple says something about the other one’s pastor. Many people have left Christ and are actually worshipping their pastors. To walk with Christ, you must drop that idol as well.
- Self. The idol of self is another one that is heavy to carry. Until you can let go of self for the sake of Jesus, you cannot walk with Him or find yourself. These are few of the baggage we carry year in year out that makes life difficult to live. Drop them with 2024 and see how good life is without them in 2025.
PRAY: My Father in heaven, help me and help world leaders to drop the idols in our hearts that we may walk with you and have peace.
