THOUGHT MANAGEMENT: You Are In Control
“Never repay anyone evil for evil. Take thought for what is right and gracious and proper in the sight of everyone. [Prov 20:22]” Romans 12:17 AMP
HAPPY DAY TO YOU: The quality of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. I have observed and am sure you too have that your thoughts determine how you feel. One person thinks wealth is evil while another thinks wealth is good and needful for godliness. Their feelings towards wealth will be different. Thank God, our thoughts are our private personal possession unless you surrender its ownership and control to somebody else.
Thoughts are spiritual entities or personalities that you choose like you choose your clothes or shoes or food. You have the liberty to take the thought you like about any issue. They present themselves to us in different shades on the same issue so you take the thought you like. Thoughts stand on the shelves in our minds each saying ‘take me and have me’. Whichever one you take becomes yours and it shows in your life till you drop it. Let us take a health challenge for example. Two ladies had pains on their left sides. The pain presented thoughts like 1. Just a sprain, I will go 2. A lung infection. Take me to the doctor 3. Sign of a serious breast disease and so on, take me to the doctor. Lady one took the ‘thought’ that it was an ordinary sprain that will soon disappear. She rubbed some balm and in one week, the pain disappeared. The Second Lady took the ‘thought’ that she had a chest infection. After the fourth day, she felt the pain was getting sharper and needed a doctor’s attention. She went to the doctor’s and had to spend money on tests and scans to be sure it was a sprain but she had to return for further check to be sure all was well. THE SECOND COURSE IN THOUGHT MANAGEMENT IS TO CHOOSE THE THOUGHT YOU TAKE.
Today’s Exercise: Say to yourself ten times today and as often as need be; “I take thought for what is good and godly in all things and at all times today”.
