HANDLING LINGERING CHALLENGE (2)

“Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me—to keep me from exalting myself! Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” 2 Corinthians 12:7-9 NASB1995

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Today, let us meet Mr. Paul with a thorn in his flesh. He called it a messenger of Satan to torment him. Whatever the agent of Satan was, we are not told but Paul could not command it out and God did not take it out. He went to God with the same desire three times but God did not take the tormentor out but gave Paul His grace to function and fulfill his heart’s desires in spite of the tormentor. The nature of man is such that when man has power, he becomes arrogant and aspires to be equal with God. Read Genesis 11:1-9. See how far scientists are going in defying everything that is divine.

To avoid this, the tormentor was given to Paul to humble him and remind him that he was still human and needed God. Some challenges are left by God to save the person bearing it  from missing eternity with God. If you have the opportunity to read some advancement in science, it will take grace to believe that there is God. Pig organs are being modified and used to replace human ones in sick people. Such is the nature of mankind when he is not restricted. When anyone has a lingering challenge that he has done all within his power and understanding without any change, the best thing to do is to leave it with God and thankfully live his life for that is the will of God (give thanks in all things). If you have a lingering challenge no matter its nature, know that God loves you and thinks highly of you. Ask Him what He wants to commit to your hands to show His glory on earth.

Today’s Exercise: unrestricted, man has the ability to want to sit on the throne of God. I will thank God that He counted me worthy to use my situation to tell man that he is still man. Say to yourself ten times today “I count all my challenges as joy for I enjoy the maximum of God’s grace in my weakness”.
