HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Happy Easter. When I see the big celebrations that come with Easter in countries that celebrate it, I wonder what benefits are in the event for mankind in general and me as a person. One great benefit that whoever believes should celebrate is that by His death on the cross, He conquered death and removed the myth about it. We now know that there is life after death and that life is in paradise for those who believe in Jesus Christ as their saviour.
The beauty of this benefit is that while we are still here in the flesh, we can be living life in heaven here on earth. We can have a changed mindset. A mindset of life in heaven. Experiencing love, joy, peace, kindness, supplies of heaven, righteousness and living in this mindset right here on earth. This is real life. It is the faith that makes everything sufficient here on earth as you can reach heaven’s resources and do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
The world mindset that Jesus delivered us from is described thus: “Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.” Colossians 3:5, 8 NKJV. This mindset leads to pain, death worry etc. and that unfortunately is the natural mindset of a person without Christ. It is the mindset we inherited from Adam. The Psalmist described it thus and cried out for help: “My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.” Psalms 119:25 NKJV
In Christ, man’s soul is raised above the dust as he is revived. I celebrate Easter now because I can recognise the “dust” and rise above it through the word of God and the blood of Christ shed on the cross. I can replace all the “dust” that I perceive through my five senses with the fruit of the spirit through the power of resurrected Christ. We shall look at practical steps to enjoy the mindset that puts man in heaven while still here on earth. Don’t just celebrate Easter as a routine but celebrate it with a purpose. Happy Easter.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Jesus for opening my understanding to the benefits of Your death on the cross. Help me to live the benefits that I may have peace here on earth. Say to yourself ten times and as often as you can “My mind is quickened from the dust as Jesus gives me life”.
