“I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, Deuteronomy 30:19 HCSB

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I have heard a couple of my friends talk about their parents and even my mother too choose the way that they will be called home. The testimony of each person is that it happened to the parents even as they chose it. My understanding then opened to how we choose clothes to depict what we want to look like. It has even become a profitable venture to be a makeup artist. This is how our thought or spiritual life should be. The unfortunate thing is that we do not make our thoughts up to convey who we want to be. Most times, the picture we see is what the world shows us through our five senses and our intellect. Let me take one example of spiritual makeup that I do and how it has worked for me. 

God has placed both life and death, blessing and curse before us in the bible. It is like a big universal supermarket. I am free to choose. I considered my senior years and I went to the “shop” to see what I could buy. I saw Moses and I like his senior years it says

“Moses was 120 years old when he died; his eyes were not weak, and his vitality had not left him.” Deuteronomy 34:7 HCSB I like this. Then I looked again and I saw Caleb; hear his story. “I was 40 years old when Moses the Lord’s servant sent me from Kadesh-barnea to scout the land, and I brought back an honest report. “As you see, the Lord has kept me alive these 45 years as He promised, since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel was journeying in the wilderness. Here I am today, 85 years old. I am still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me out. My strength for battle and for daily tasks is now as it was then.” Joshua 14:7, 10-11 HCSB. At 85 years, his strength for battle and daily tasks is still the same. I took these two scriptures and used them to talk to myself until they became my thought pattern that expanded in my heart to other scriptures that have been lifting a standard against old age weakness or infirmities for me. When any senior infirmity shows up, I don’t complain or resent it I tell myself that it will work together for my good so I can fulfill God’s purpose for allowing it. It gets sorted out as God guides me so I am able to do my duties. Take your journal and check what you desire to cloth your spirit with from scriptures, keep saying it to yourself until it becomes your thought pattern and you start fulfilling it.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord that I can take Your word that I like and personalise it to be speaking it to myself until it becomes my thought. Help me to speak it till it enters my heart and I begin to fulfil it. Say to yourself ten times today and as often as you can “I shop for the best in the word of God and keep it in my mouth till it enters my heart and I fulfil it”.
