IN SYNC WITH LOVE. 1
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” I John 4:7-8 NKJV
HAPPY DAY TO YOU: When I heard the phrase “in sync with love” in my heart, I wondered what it could mean. You see, love is one word that has been so bastardised that I was wondering where the voice came from. As I was saying the phrase to myself over and over, the Holy Spirit spoke. He said to my spirit “God is LOVE. To walk with God, hear Him and He hears you, you must be in sync with LOVE. You must agree with love in thought, word and action”. Then I understood what He was saying.
If you don’t sync with Love, you don’t know God. This love is the unconditional love of God that makes one forgive all offenses. God so loved us that He gave His only begotten Son to die for our sin and salvation. It was at the mention of forgiveness that I was disturbed. I said “should I forgive all offenses”? He said “yes”. “What about forgetting”? “He said if forgetting means it will be wiped out of your memory, NO. It is still there but now just as history without any venom. Anyone who is willing to overcome unforgiveness will be helped by the Holy Spirit”. I found it difficult. Some offences cut to the marrow but then Jesus still says “forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing”. I will say how I learnt to forgive to the point that I even plead with God not to judge or be at war with my offender.
LEARNING TO FORGIVE.
I prayed and asked God to help me forgive the offender. Then I acknowledged the offence for the last time and I felt the raw pain. Then I said to myself “Lord, I let go of this offence and the pain it gives me and I do not demand vengeance from You or anybody. I pray that you bless him and grant that he will know You Jesus. If he knows You, he will behave better and have peace”. I said this to myself each time the memory comes and after some weeks, I don’t remember the offence with venom again, I feel light and I trust God with the rest. Once you agree to sync with God on the matter of forgiveness, His Holy Spirit supports you and grants you liberty of spirit and joy. I have used this several times with people who deeply hurt me and I have been at peace with myself and my God. Try it and you will see the peace that will flood your heart and how easily you will feel the presence of God. Tomorrow God willing, we shall see how to love our enemies.

Today’s Exercise: Forgiveness is a tough issue dear Lord, but with Your power, I can do it. Say to yourself ten times and as often as you can “Lord Jesus, this offence pains me but I am willing to forgive and do away with the pain and venom of it. I forgive (name the person) and I pray that You forgive and bless him or her”.
