SO SIMPLE YET ALL POWERFUL

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: There is a simplicity that is in Christ that makes it easy to be deceived that there is more to what He says one should do to be saved from destruction eternally or have peace in this life. I used to feel like that more so when the bible does not give clear instructions on some specific issues that were of great concern to me. Take issues like ‘who should one marry or should I rent a house or not’? It took a long time for me to understand how to know and follow the mind of God. When we were young, parents would go to spiritists to inquire of the mind of God. Our parents were Christians who went to church but did not understand how to know God’s mind. It has not changed much now because believers still look up to pastors or prophets to know God’s mind over issues of their lives.

KNOWING THE MIND OF CHRIST.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27 NIV
The first gifts you enjoy when you come to Jesus are peace and joy. These are not as the world gives. It does not depend on the absence of external disturbance or cause for joy. Your outward situation may not change but you feel peace and joy that cannot be explained. These peace and joy too are what come to you when you are on course with Jesus. They guard your heart and mind. When Christ is not in any decision you are taking, His peace and joy disappear. “Let your heart be always guided by the peace of the Anointed One, who called you to peace as part of his one body. And always be thankful.” Colossians 3:15 TPT Peace is the guide of your heart to decipher the mind of Christ. Today, ask God to let you know His peace.

Today’s Exercise: Dear Lord, thank You for leaving the gift of inner peace that shows You are with me. Help me to recognise Your peace when You beckon to me. Say to yourself ten times “I recognise and follow the peace of Christ today and always.”

True talk Aunty Bose, it is the simplicity that is in Christ that makes it easy to be deceived that there is more to what we are supposed to do to qualify for His love and acceptance. This paves the way for syncretism through traditions and denominational bigotry. May God help us.
