THE TIME AND THE WORD

“They hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord tested him. The king sent and released him, The ruler of the people let him go free. He made him Lord of his house, And ruler of all his possessions, To bind his princes at his pleasure, And teach his elders wisdom.” Psalms 105:18–22 NKJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Someone needs encouragement today. You are tired of holding on because the promise or vision to you from God is taking so long. The Lord is saying “look at Joseph, it took so long but he held on and the promise came.” In the life of Joseph, the word and time played out. See Genesis 37:5-10. The word came to him in two dreams about how his brothers and parents would bow down to him. That was the beginning of time for the word. Your word could be in any form about any aspect of your life. You may receive the revelation that you will be the testimony to a particular God’s word. Then the journey begins. We expect the word to come immediately or soonest but there is the time of testing that only God decides. Your faithfulness to the God of the word will be tested. It was so for Joseph. It may seem the word is dead and buried and would not be again. This is because of the trying by the word but God is building your character for the magnitude of the good to come. When you hold on to the God of the word in this second phase of time, it will lead to the time of manifestation. Read Genesis 41:40-43. Joseph refused to gain his word through the crooked way suggested by Portiphar’s wife. Genesis 39:7-9 and he was sent to prison. Today, be encouraged to hold on to your calling and vision from God even when it looks like it is not fulfilling what you saw or perceived expected. Don’t use any crooked way to fast track the vision but listen and keep this in your heart: “Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.”” Jeremiah 1:12 AMP
It will come at the fullness of God’s time. Be patient.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord because You are actively watching over Your word to perform it. Help me to wait. Say to yourself ten times today and as often as possible (I know God’s promise to me will happen. I wait patiently obeying the Lord till it is fulfilled.)
