CO-HABITANTS

“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” Psalm 22:3 KJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: When we were in the hostel in our university days, we carefully chose our room mates or co habitants to be whom we knew would add value to our lives. The same thing went for when we were choosing life partners. I have grown to know that I have to choose who my soul will have as a co habitant as well. Whatever you fill your soul with is your co habitant and you manifest his nature with whatever power he has. Anger for example rests in the bosom of fools. “Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools.” Ecclesiastes 7:9 NKJV. A fool co habits with anger. If you are quickly angry, then folly inhabits you meaning you are its temple. When bitterness and destruction resides in your heart, then strong drink is your co habitant. You can look up other cohabitants in the bible and see what values they will add to your life if you choose them.

I have searched and decided to choose praise as my cohabitant. I see that God inhabits the praise of His people so when I am a temple of praise, I cohabit with God. When you praise God always, you see Him in all you do. It means that in season and out of season, God is there with you in His power and majesty. In praise, I have peace in my soul. The psalmist puts it this way: “Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child is my soul within me.” Psalms 131:2 NKJV. Praising God always calms my soul like a child restfully laying on his mother’s chest. Try becoming a temple of praise from today.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord today for showing where You inhabit so I can be with you. Help me to praise you always. Say to yourself (I will praise the Lord as long as I have breadth.)
