HOW GOD LEADS

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.” Psalms 23:1–2 NKJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Everyone wants divine guidance or counsel at one point in life. I have read various books on knowing the mind of God but all of them were abstract for me and I couldn’t make much it of them except to know that God does speak to people. Last week while reading a book by Napoleon Hill, a phrase he used caught my attention. He prayed and went to the woods to meditate on what decision he needed to take to get out of financial mess. As his mind was racing up and down, his thought became frozen on an idea. Though it did not make sense to him, he had peace and boldness to do it.

This set me thinking and psalm 23 came to my mind and I was fixed on it. The Lord is my shepherd but I cannot see Him. Then how does He shepherd me? He shepherds me through my thoughts. The thoughts that come to my mind is the voice spirits around. Whatever shepherds man will do it through his thoughts. He shepherds my soul. I kept paying attention to my thoughts. I found that various thoughts come to my mind about any issue at hand but once I invite the Holy Spirit to be my shepherd, my mind rests on a particular thought and I have peace. The thought then opens up on how I will execute it as I keep my focus on it. Wherever He makes my soul to rest has green pastures. Green pasture is food for the sheep. He leads me by His peace. Still waters indicate peace. “Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.” Philippians 4:6–7 TPT. God shepherds me through rest in my soul and peace when it is time to move. We’ll continue psalm 23 tomorrow by God’s grace.

Today’s Exercise: Thank you Lord for showing me how You lead me. Help me to keep my focus on You at all times as a maid focuses on her mistress for instructions. Say to yourself as often as possible (I keep my focus on God at all times and watch for His guidance.)
