SECRET TO HEALING

“Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted. Their soul abhorred all manner of food, And they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.” Psalms 107:17–20 NKJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I was worried about the look on the face of a young man ushered into my office. He said to me “ma, I am worried about the various diseases that people are diagnosed with these days. And shortly after diagnosis they die.” His beloved friend has just died of kidney failure. He had loads of questions on his mind to ask God. Psalm 107:17-20 came to my mind and we looked at it together. And found comfort.

The world has forgotten God and we wallow in transgressions calling it civilisation. We embrace folly instead of wisdom. This attitude brings affliction to mankind. Even in affliction, we seek human solutions instead of turning to God. Those who genuinely turn to Him, He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destruction. I had meditated on this scripture a long time ago and it made me form the habit of reading the word massively. I read through the bible in one month for seven months, I did it in three months and six months then I settled for once a year now. He sent His word. His word is Jesus Christ His begotten Son. His stripes healed us as He bore our iniquities on the cross. We both came to the conclusion that we have all neglected God and we should go back to Him and live by His wisdom. Today, keep your gaze on His word as that is the remedy to make you whole.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord for the healing power in your word. Help me to always pay attention to Your words.
