BEING STILL

📖

““Be still, and know that I am God! I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭10‬ ‭AFV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: How many times have you been there? You have tried your best and nothing seems to yield and your situation is the same or even getting worse. You have prayed, praised, thrown tantrums, cried, given offerings, attended religious programs etc and nothing happens. At such times, I want to know where I can go to find God. You feel like an insect trapped in a spider’s web that all its struggles to escape are fruitless. It is time to be still and know that God is God. How can you be still?

When some things are happening, we have our will as to the end result that we desire as human beings feeling the pinch of the situation. Your thoughts race around trying to find the solution. You become anxious and afraid. At such moments, I reappraise who I think God is. When nothing happens, then my thinking becomes tired and I quit thinking and start praising God. I keep my mind still by singing one praise song and rest my mind on that for as long as the circumstance persists. With time, worry and anxieties disappear and I surrender the issue to God. In His time, He brings the solution to me either by way of insight or by allowing things to happen that resolve the issue then I breathe  ‘Thank You God’ breath or shout Eureka.

Are you in this situation of not knowing the way forward or even backward? Then it is the time to BE STILL AND KNOW THAT GOD IS. You know in your mind that there is a higher power in the situation, then you yield or surrender to Him to resolve the issue. As you choose how you want to focus your mind on God, your mind will relax expecting His will to be done. I encourage all those at this point of not knowing what else or what next to be still by shifting their focus to the greatest of all powers and being still before Him.

Today’s Exercise: Thank you Lord that my soul can be still focusing on you. Teach me to trust You. Say to yourself as much as possible (My soul finds its rest in the Lord waiting for His light.)
