THE LESSONS IN AFFLICTION (1)

“It is good for me that I have been afflicted; That I might learn thy statutes.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭71‬ ‭KJV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: In the year 1985, I lost everything that was precious to me then. Almost all material things that I held dear were lost and I felt abandoned by God although I did not know Him with my heart only with my head. I began a search for Him out of my affliction. I did not like the space I found myself so I asked questions. When things were running well for me, I did not care much about God and I went to church once in a while when my mind veered towards church which rarely happened as all my concern was to make more and guard my processions. Then one mishap after another took all that I had and loved away. Then I remembered God and started asking questions and seeking where I could find God.

The first good lesson of my afflictions was that they pointed me to search for God. Your affliction is God’s voice to draw you to Him and take you to the right path.

People are going through afflictions all over the world. There is a lack of peace worldwide and fearful natural disasters happen in different places. LET THE AFFLICTIONS LEAD EACH PERSON AND THE WHOLE WORLD BACK TO GOD. I learned that man does not Ask, Seek and Knock when he is comfortable. Affliction and leanness of soul make him seek his creator and ask Him questions.

I looked anywhere and everywhere that God was called except the bible but my mind did not find rest until I went back to the same bible and met with Jesus. My mind found peace and rest and every day I have journeyed with Him since then has provided more peace and light for navigating the unseen and unknown paths of life. I invite you to a deep daily walk with Jesus and He will hold your hand to the way of peace and rest in this uncertain world. I leave you today to examine what direction the various challenges point you to and what you get as you walk in the path.

Today’s Exercise: I thank You God that affliction is your rod or feeler to bring man to You. I pray today for everyone that is afflicted and searching for You. Lead them to Your Son Jesus who is the Way to You as Father. Say to yourself as often as possible (I invite and hold the hand of Jesus in everything that concerns my life.)
