REMEMBER TO KEEP YOUR PROMISE

đź“–

“Better not to promise at all than to make a promise and not keep it. Don’t let your own words lead you into sin, so that you have to tell God’s priest that you didn’t mean it. Why make God angry with you? Why let him destroy what you have worked for?” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭GNT‬‬

🤔

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: One thing people do that keeps them in bondage is to make a promise to God in their time of trial and not fulfil it when they are helped. Because we don’t know when what you promise is needed to fill a gap in God’s agenda, it is very dangerous to vow and not fulfil it. It is better not to vow at all than to say you don’t mean it afterwards. Broken promises cause God to destroy one’s work.

🤔

A promise can be as small as telling God you will pray for somebody. If you say so, please do it immediately. Also, don’t make a promise you don’t intend to fulfill to people. Remember God lives in them too and He hears your promise. Jesus said whatever you do to his brother you do to him. If you had promised and not fulfilled it in the past, repent and make sure you don’t promise again if you are not sure you can fulfil it. Ask God if the promise you made is still needed so you can fulfil it.

Today’s Exercise: Dear Lord, thank you for reminding me of  little things that may be hindering my progress. Help me to refrain from promising anything I will not do or letting joy make me forget my promise to you when you deliver me.
