GIVING VALUE TO YOUR WORD

“Who is this who speaks, and it comes to pass, when the Lord does not ordain it? From the mouth of the Most High does not the bad and the good proceed?” ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭37‬-‭38‬ ‭AFV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: We all want to speak and have our words produce substance. Even babies are happy when the only language they understand produces results for them. The language of babies is their crying.

To give your word power, you need to think of the word of God day and night. Your heart has to be grounded in the word of God. In Joshua 1:8, God says “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate therein day and night, so that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭AFV‬‬.  Also in the book of Job, his friend gave an insight into what makes man’s word potent. “Please receive the law from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart. For then you shall have your delight in the Almighty, and shall lift up your face to God. You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be fulfilled to you; and the light shall shine upon your ways.” ‭‭Job‬ ‭22‬:‭22‬, ‭26‬, ‭28‬ ‭AFV‬‬

My testimony to this. Some years back, I was invited to a three day fast in someone’s house. I chose to join in prayer times but spent the rest of my time listening to the four gospels. I didn’t gist with the others. On the third day when we were about to close, the leader of the group called me to pray. Everything that I said happened even from the place of the prayer.

Think about this and tomorrow, we shall continue.

Today’s Exercise: On a scale of 1-10, 1 being the least and 10 highest, How much of your time do you spend thinking of God’s word? If you want to power your word, think more on the word of God and not any other thing. The more you do, the more power your word carries.
