SPEAK WITH AUTHORITY

“Therefore, I pray you, come now and curse this people for me, for they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall prevail so that we may strike them, and so that I may drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.””

‭‭Numbers‬ ‭22‬:‭6‬ ‭AFV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Anybody can speak and it would be so but there are conditions that make the Christian to speak and God backs him up immediately.

The first is that the motive of the Christian must be to show forth the glory of God. If the motive is to show forth that he is powerful or to feed his ego, then his word becomes vain. Jesus said he did not seek his own glory. John 8:50. He also said “If anyone desires to do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from My own self. The one who speaks of himself is seeking his own glory; but He Who seeks the glory of Him Who sent Him is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” ‭‭John‬ ‭7‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭AFV‬‬. You must seek the glory of God if you are going to speak and the Father will confirm your word as He did to Jesus.

2. You must hear the word from his mouth. Jesus emphasised this in John 8:26; John 12:49-50 and he made it clear when he said “Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I speak to you, I do not speak from My own self; but the Father Himself, Who dwells in Me, does the works.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭10‬ ‭AFV‬‬. It is his Father who does the work of the word that Jesus said.

In the story of Balaam in our text today, Balaam the man who spoke and it was so said he could only speak what God permitted him to say. 

The more you hear from God, the more powerful your word is. Think of this discussion today and see how you can connect with it and connect it with so many powerless pronouncements of those who speak for God these days.
