OBEDIENCE VERSUS SACRIFICE

“Samuel said, “Which does the Lord prefer: obedience or offerings and sacrifices? It is better to obey him than to sacrifice the best sheep to him.” 1 Samuel 15:22 GNT

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: What does God want from man so that the world will have peace? We have given so much for the ‘work’ of God to build edifices for Him and we gather people in thousands to ‘worship’ Him yet His presence is not felt. In places where people’s needs are taken care of by the government, they hardly remember Him and even want to remove Him from their system. Giving to ‘God’ is used as an opportunity to get rich by those who claim to shepherd His people. It is time to check what God really demands.

King Saul disobeyed God’s order to destroy all the Amalekites. He brought back some goods according to him to sacrifice to God. God became angry with Saul and spoke His preference through Samuel. God prefers obedience to Him than Sacrifice. We teach people to give and build monuments for God without teaching them how to obey God. No wonder the world does not have respect or need for God. Let the church teach her people to obey God then the Lord will glorify Himself in His people. God told us what He demands of us thus;

““Now, people of Israel, listen to what the Lord your God demands of you: Worship the Lord and do all that he commands. Love him, serve him with all your heart, and obey all his laws. I am giving them to you today for your benefit.” Deuteronomy 10:12-13 GNT. God demands obedience to Him.
Pray today that the Lord will teach you how to obey Him.

Today’s Exercise: Dear Lord, I am sorry that I have not made obeying You my major vision or project. Tune my heart to seek how to obey You. I pray with my whole heart in Jesus name.
