GUARD YOUR HEART

“Or how is anyone able to enter into the house of a strongman and plunder his goods, if he does not first bind the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.” Matthew 12:29 AFV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Ungated and unguarded houses are open to anyone to come in and take whatever they want. It is the same with hearts or minds that have no gate. Any thought or spirit can enter and steal the joy, peace, love and life in that heart. When this happens, a person will feel mood changes and may end up with mental or physical disorders.

How do you guard and guide your heart?
First, you need to know the content of your heart or decide what you want the content to be. Possible contents are Love, Peace, Joy, Endurance, Contentment and the like. These give a good life and health to the heart and body. These contents are from the Holy Spirit. Other contents are sorrow, hatred, adultery, lack of contentment, lust and the like. Do you like these? Most people don’t like them but when the enemy gets to the soul through evil thoughts and enticements, and is unrestricted, then he settles in and brings in other bad spirits to dwell in that soul and choke out all the good treasures.

To guard your heart, you must understand the feelings or emotions generated by thoughts that enter your heart. Once the feelings or emotions are bad and undesirable, then know that it is a thief then don’t entertain it. Replace it with thoughts that produce peace, joy, love and the like. If you become aware of feelings or fruits of any thought, you will know whether to permit it or not.

I leave you today to be watchful of what you treasure in your heart and decide whether they have produced good or bad fruit in there.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will shine His light in your heart and burn off all thieves that have plundered your soul.
