THIRST AND HUNGER INVOLVED 

📖

“As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭42‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Knowing God involves a thirst of the soul for Him. Because God is spirit, it is by our spirit that we can know Him. Until the knowledge of God becomes the sole desire of your heart, His knowledge may be far from you. Apostle Paul puts it this way;

“And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth,…, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬  We are made to seek God and feel our way towards Him and find Him.

I experienced this when all I had based my life and joy collapsed years back. I started seeking God in all possible religions I knew of but left each one when my soul didn’t find rest. It was not until I met with Jesus Christ that I had rest and peace in my soul. The soul of man feels peace and rest when it finds God. These peace and rest don’t depend on external conditions but from inside you. Apostle Paul concluded his sermon with where God is by saying; “for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭28‬ ‭ESV‬‬   Observe that it is inside of you that you worry, or are sad or at peace. Your soul is what thirsts for God and is at rest when he finds Him. Every other thing gives temporal rest and peace. Only in God do you have enduring rest and peace.

I leave you today to find what your soul longs after and see what keeps your soul at rest.
