NOT TO YOU BUT GOD

📖

And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. ‭1 Samuel 8:7 NIV‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: The Holy Spirit is set to comfort someone who is deeply hurting because of the treatment he is receiving from people as a result of keeping them in the will of God. He is saying to you that it is not you they have maltreated or persecuted, it is Him.

It is okay for you to feel bad but it is not okay for the bad feeling to linger. If you allow it to linger, you will be hurting yourself and may destroy yourself instead of those who hurt you. Consider the story of Samuel in 1 Samuel 8; the children of Israel rejected him and he felt very bad. He took the matter to God and God told him to listen to them and do their wish because it is not Samuel they rejected but Him God. If you read the story further, in spite of Samuel’s anger, he said he would not stop praying for them. “Also, I, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord from ceasing to pray for you. But I will teach you the good and the right way.” ‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭12‬:‭23‬ ‭AFV‬‬ He did not stop doing his duty towards them despite rejecting him. Don’t turn away from discharging your duty towards your persecutors as far as they permit you except God says you should stop.

To every hurting soul, God is saying “it is me not you that has been rejected. Don’t worry about them, just continue doing what I sent you to do.”

I pray that God will give every hurting soul His comfort to keep them going in spite of opposition.
