DAY NUMBERING

“So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom. O satisfy us in the morning with Your mercy, so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” Psalms 90:12, 14 AFV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: A friend said to me ‘when did we say happy new year and today is already January 30? This year is running fast.’ I replied with ‘thank God for everything He has done for us so far’. We thanked God together and concluded with the prayer that He would guide us through the rest of the year. When we concluded our talk, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to what we should be doing everyday along with thanksgiving as we number our days.

Everyday you number, you should ask yourself how wise your heart has become.
What is wisdom?

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 NIV This fear is deep reverence and awe: It’s not terror, but a profound respect for God’s power, holiness, and standards. It is the reverence that takes cognizance of God in all that one does. So everyday that you wake up, check how much of God that you know and how you put His knowledge in every decision that you take. If you are not aware of God in your life, today is the day to have a change of heart and make a conscious decision to search for God and you will find Him. Remember that your times are in His hands and you will finally meet Him one day to talk about your time here.

I leave you today to assess your knowledge of God and how much honour you give to Him. That is your wisdom.

I pray that God will reveal Himself and his will to us as our hearts seek to please Him in Jesus name.
