THANKSGIVING; A FIRM GRIP ON GOD

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I found by experience that being obsessed with thanksgiving to God in all things and at all times gives a firm grip on Him. Most of the prayers I made when I was obsessed with God were simple “Father God, I thank you” even in adversities. I said it out loud and I was always saying it in my heart. Then I don’t know what happened but my thanksgiving reduced bit by bit until it was next to gone. I then observed that the level of peace I had in me dropped drastically too and I was quickened to see that I was far from thanksgiving. I started again and it took lots of effort and time for me to go back to constant praise and thanksgiving. Then I had peace again. Peace and joy are the nature and strength of God that you contact when you cling to Him in thanksgiving.

Clinging to God does not mean you would not have your share of the storms of life. It however means that you will have the consciousness of God with you in the storm and you will experience His peace that passes all understanding. I liken praise and gratitude thanksgiving to the inward raincoat that protects your soul from the rain of pain that comes with the storm.

Try clinging to God with praise and thanksgiving always and experience the peace it gives. Note; casual and occasional thanksgiving does not give the relief you want from God. Make it a lifestyle. Then you are stuck with God at all times.
