HE RENEWS MY SOUL

“he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” Psalms 23:3 NIV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: When He makes your soul lie down beside still waters where you have no worries or doubt, then the Lord refreshes your soul. Let us look at the dictionary meaning of refresh. Refresh means to restore strength, energy, or freshness to someone (revive), or to update, renovate, or renew something, such as a website, document, or room. In computing, it means reloading a screen to display the latest data, while generally, it refers to replenishing supplies or rejuvenating one’s spirit or memory.

So refreshing involves renewing. 1 He restores strength and energy to your tired soul. The Lord does not lead you on when you are tired but looks for a good pasture to rest your soul. 2. Once you are rested, He can then suggest thoughts to you that will take you in the right direction for His name’s sake. 3. Refresh means he updates you on the latest data. He teaches you on the new developments.

Remember prophet Elisha in 2 Kings 6:18, you can read it. The Lord guided him on how the king of Israel will avoid the path of the enemy. I have experienced this refreshing several times without knowing it was the Lord doing it. In mathematics then in school, when my brain was tired, I would stop thinking and after some time, the way to solve the problem would come.

If you can learn to intentionally follow the Lord and rest in Him, He will teach you the way of righteousness to take. He wants to give you what you desire without hurting you in any way. His thoughts towards you are thoughts of good and not of evil.
