Shut Your Door

SHUT YOUR DOOR

📖

“But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”  Matthew 6:6 NKJV

🤔

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I was going to read my Bible and I heard ‘shut your door’ deep in my spirit. I looked and my door was shut and everyone was still asleep. Then the voice continued. ‘When you are using your phone for your personal devotion, you are outside. ‘

🤔

‘Distractions from messages, alarms, social media posts, even adverts from the app stop you from concentrating. All these distractions make you share your time with other matters apart from Me. They make hearing Me difficult for you. This is why many of you are confused or feel lost when in trouble. I don’t leave you to face your challenges alone but you don’t put me where you can hear me guide you.’

🤔

I looked at myself and I found the Lord’s observation very true. If you want to pray effectively, you need to shut not only the physical doors but the door of your mind to distractions, especially your phone. I lost interest in reading hard bibles. I only use my phone Bible apps. My Bible study has not been as deep as before ever since I developed that habit. I am going back to my hard copy bible henceforth.

🤔

If you connect with this, try and make amends. This will be the beginning of enjoying your devotions again.

🛐

I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you into how to link up with Him successfully and effectively in Jesus name.
