THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD 1
“The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], [Ezek 34:11-31] I shall not want.” Psalms 23:1 AMP
HAPPY DAY TO YOU: To today’s generation, shepherding as a word may not have much meaning to them as we don’t see farmers as in past generations. We only eat meat but don’t know how they are reared.

For the sake of this generation, shepherd is defined in the dictionary as “a person who herds, tends, guards, and cares for sheep, often guiding them to pasture. As a verb, it means to guide, manage, or protect a group, such as “shepherding” people through a process.” A word for shepherding that resonates with today’s generation is GUIDE.

What does it mean that the Lord is my guide? People see their guides, how do I see God to guide me? How does the Lord guide a person? If we can understand and appreciate the answers to these questions, we shall become aware of God and His guidance.

God is unseen. He is intangible. He is Spirit. You must be aware that you are both tangible and intangible too. Your intangible part is in you called your soul, and spirit. He directs your tangible behaviour and responses. When a person dies, the intangible part of him leaves but the tangible is lifeless and not useful for anything except to be buried and returned to dust. It is this intangible part of you that is the real you who relates with God and the spirit realm of creation. There is also the intangible realm of creation that we call the spirit realm. It is from this spirit realm that the physical realm is directed.

Today, I leave you with the exercise of being conscious of your intangible part as you listen to yourself thinking and talking to yourself. Until you are conscious of this, you will not understand the word GUIDE in relation to being guided by the Lord. Record some of your thoughts.
