THE LESSONS IN AFFLICTION (3)

“And I say to you, ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; and the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, it shall be opened.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭AFV‬‬

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: So far, we have seen that affliction has the main benefit of turning us back to God and the right way in life. 

“It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭71‬ ‭AMP‬‬. What needs to change in one’s way may be something as simple as how the person talks so that breakthroughs will start happening. 

However, I want to point our attention to one simple truth. Asking, seeking and knocking are all by the word in the spirit realm.   To knock with your word, you will offer the sacrifice of thanking and praise to God with the single purpose of gaining knowledge or whatever it is that you want. If you keep asking for the same thing with fervent desire, you are knocking the door to it and it will be opened to you.

The mistake we make is knocking the door to the very thing we do not want in that we speak wrongly. The woman that Elisha prayed for to have a child did not narrate any stories but said “it is well” even when her son was dead. “Please run now to meet her and ask her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?’ ” And she answered, “It is well.”” Q‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭4‬:‭26‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Although it was Elisha’s servant asking her what was wrong, she replied that it was well. Or remember the widow in Luke 18:1-6 who was asking the judge for the same thing daily. The judge eventually gave her. That is knocking. 

This is a spiritual law that works for whoever applies it. So in affliction, one would learn all this either by seeking or even by accident. I leave you today to ask for your need either tangible or intangible, seek your need and knock at the door of your need.  May the Lord help you in all that you say.

Today’s Exercise: Thank You Lord for showing me how to follow after you to get my needs. Give me understanding of your ways dear Jesus. Say to yourself (I use my mouth to ask, seek and knock the door of God’s goodness and mercy in Jesus name)
