CHOOSE; SERVANT OR FRIEND?

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:13-15 NKJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Friendship is sweet and healthy but it could also hurt deeply. Though people have betrayed us and we have had less than our expectations from friends, we all still need friends. Experience has taught many people to not go all the way in friendship because of betrayal. However, there is a friend who always loves and enough to lay His life down for you.

However, friendship with Jesus is different. It is such that He is willing to tell you everything even when you are hiding some aspects of you from Him though He knows everything even before they happen. When I understood that Jesus wants me to open up everything that He may heal me and give me joy that nothing can take, I relaxed and I have had unending joy since then in spite of challenges.

You can either choose to be a friend of Jesus or be His servant. The relationship is different. Most people choose servant hood to friendship. Religion encourages seeing ourselves as servants rather than friends. Look at how servants are around you and compare it with how friends relate. Then choose one.

Friendship carries some responsibilities which we all know. Today, look at the responsibilities of friendship that you know and write it down. What do you want from a friend and what will you give to a friend? Write everything out clearly and see what you expect from a friendship with Jesus. Will you answer His call to you for friendship with Him? We shall continue tomorrow God willing.

I pray that God will open your heart to put away all disappointments and reservations and answer ‘YES’ to Jesus for friendship so that you may experience real and lasting joy in Jesus name.
