“Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.” Habakkuk 2:4 KJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Faith is a commonly used word but still little understood. This is so because faith reveals the life of a person. Because faith is closely related to life, it cannot be fully understood or explained. Apostle Paul said this about faith “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17 KJV Faith like life is progressive. Jesus talked of little faith, great faith and exceeding great faith. Faith is dynamic. Also, faith is personal. Note that our verse for today says the just shall live by his faith.

Faith is a firm belief in something for which there is no physical proof. There is no physical proof of the existence of God for example but by faith we believe that He exists. There is no physical proof that a person will attain old age but by faith he saves and takes pension schemes and other investments to take care of his old age. This is faith to the ordinary man.

Faith is spiritual and it determines how a person lives. A senior lady refused to decorate her apartment to suit her status. When asked why, she would answer that her place then was a transit camp for her. Her husband’s house would be her permanent house that she would decorate to her taste and ability. What is your faith? What does your life say about your faith? We shall continue tomorrow God willing. Think about the discussion today as it forms the fundamentals of faith.
