TAPPING INTO GOD’S MERCY

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; With an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright; Psalm 18:25 KJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: Having seen the importance of God’s mercy upon a person’s life some years back, I decided to study how a person can enter into God’s mercy in his relationship with Him. I have enjoyed mercy in various forms. I have enjoyed the consoling and comforting works of mercy in hard times. I have experienced mercy comforting me when I was bereaved and gave me unshakeable insight and hope into why I should not mourn perpetually because the dead in Christ only enter into their rest and not wasted.
I have experienced mercy given me a better deal when my prayer was not answered the way I wanted it. I have also experienced mercy given me my desire even when I was least qualified. Mercy is indeed the constant factor everyone must have daily in life.

How can one be in a perpetual state of God’s mercy? Our text today gives the clue. Having grasped Psalm 18:25 a long time ago, I make myself merciful to others as much as I am able. Jesus emphasized it more when He said “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Matthew 5:7 NIV. This is the secret to living in God’s mercy. Be merciful to others. Take on mercy as nature.

I must sound a note of caution. When people see that you are merciful, they will take advantage of you but don’t be discouraged. You do what is right for them not because they deserve it but out of mercy knowing that it is by mercy that you too exist in peace. I leave you to consider who and where you have closed your bowels of mercy and decide to change.

I pray that God will make MERCY your nature in Jesus name.
