GROWING EFFECTIVE FAITH 1
“But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.” Matthew 15:26-28 KJV

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: At the time of the story above, it wasn’t God’s will for Jesus to go to the gentiles. Jesus told her plainly that he was sent to the Jews and not to gentiles. The woman however declared her faith in Jesus in such a way that Jesus was surprised. Jesus called her faith great and she got the bread of children from Jesus even when Jesus described her as a ‘dog’. How can one get this great faith and exercise it?

Great faith is faith that goes beyond doubt and one is ready to stake one’s life on it. Revelation 12:11. The more you can stand by your word even unto death, the greater your faith is. Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the word of God so you get God’s faith through hearing His word. It becomes great by repeating the word as often as possible till it enters your spirit. It is then that it becomes greater and greater as you speak it to yourself.

There was a time we had a teaching that praying is once and after that just keep thanking God. It took time and some uncomfortable experiences for me to learn otherwise.
To deepen your faith, you should know without doubt that God exists and that doesn’t happen by saying or reading it once. I used Hebrews 11:6 as my anchor and I kept saying God exists to myself. I repeated it to myself so much that it appeared like I could touch God. I was talking to God directly and He impressed His reply to my heart.

What I noticed by that time was that when I decided to be saying ‘God exists’ to myself, things began to happen and people around me began to challenge the thought. In spite of such happenings and people around me, I still maintained that God exists. As the fact that God exists began to enter my spirit, it started opening up more in me and understanding started coming. I am happy now that I believe without an iota of doubt that God exists. I leave you today to check deep in your heart if you believe that God exists. That is the foundation of faith and a real walk with Him.
