THE WAY OF FRIENDSHIP WITH JESUS 1
“Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” Amos 3:3 NKJV
HAPPY MONTH OF MAY: Thank God for another month and that we are on this side of existence to experience His glory again. I pray for those who lost loved ones last month, may your walk with Jesus give you comfort in Jesus name. Those who are rejoicing, may your walk with Jesus sustain your joy And for those who will meet challenges this month, may Jesus support you and carry you through the challenges unto safe grounds in Jesus name.

Now to our talk on friendship with Jesus, the fundamental of walking with anyone is agreement. Unless two people agree, walking together thus friendship is not feasible. It is the same with walking with Jesus as a friend. To be friends, two people must be able to speak a common language that they both understand and also understand each other. The Bible contains the language of the Holy Spirit. It has been translated to various human languages so that everyone can hear and understand it. Walking with Jesus involves reading His language then the Holy Spirit will make it clear to you.

Since God is Spirit, it is with your spirit that you befriend Him. God is also Word, you befriend Him with your word too. The word became flesh and lived among us. John 1:14. I have learnt how to practically relate this to my life. You can try it.

I say to myself “Jesus I am your friend. My soul and thoughts cling to you Jesus.” I discovered that the situation that should hurt or touch me deeply becomes so light because Jesus took the sting of it. A condition I had passed through before that would have made me behave inappropriately is managed by Jesus with the result that my emotions are under control. Once something wants to take control of my thoughts, I tell my thoughts repeatedly to cling to Jesus. With time, an understanding comes to me in ways that resolve my feelings and the situation.

Today, I leave you to think about this and practice telling your thoughts to cling to Jesus. It is not by quoting scriptures but just saying ‘Jesus I cling to You.’ The name Jesus is the complete word of God. Try it, it works. Even with your secular work, Jesus opens the solution to your assignment.

I pray Jesus, that You sooth the pain and worry of all those who will believe and tell their souls to cling to You instead of their conditions or anywhere their souls roam to, and deepen their joy as they cling to you Jesus name.
