“But rather we will certainly carry out every word that has proceeded from our mouths, by burning sacrifices to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, just as we ourselves, our forefathers, our kings and our princes did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food and were well off and saw no misfortune.” Jeremiah 44:17 NASB1995

HAPPY DAY TO YOU: I have asked many questions about the state of Christianity in my country silently in my heart but it became worrisome when the whole world mocks us about our religiosity and plenty of corruption and wickedness going on in the country at the same time. I did my search in scriptures with the Holy Spirit and this is my finding. IT MUST BE REAL TO BE SUSTAINABLE was impressed in my heart.

If Christianity does not produce real results for people, it cannot be sustained. To know what to look for in any venture, you must know what you want out of it. Every venture has a promise it holds. The reward of every venture is not hidden so if you try a venture and it does not give you its rewards, then you will abandon it.

Christ gave the reward of following Him in this statement. “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” John 14:27 NASB1995 He promises His peace. Observe that He mentioned the peace of the world. They are two different types of peace. We all know the peace of the world but few know the peace of Christ.

Like the children of Israel in the time of Jeremiah, they wanted food, water, wealth and security. The queen of heaven gave them these as they sacrificed to her. When they were persuaded to leave her and turn to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, they didn’t get all these things the queen of heaven was giving them so the worship of God, creator of all things, was not sustainable with them.
To sustain Christianity, we must lead people to the peace of Jesus so that in all situations, that peace is constant.

I pray that you will know what you want in life and see what the way of Christ promises to give. I also pray that you will have the grace to stand with and in Christ when the trials come in Jesus name.
