SUSTAINABLE PEACE IN A CHAOTIC WORLD
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah 26:3 NLT
HAPPY DAY TO YOU: The peace of God is more powerful than any chaos around. I have experienced it several times and I will tell you how I did it. The best teacher is experience so until a person experiences something, he cannot teach it effectively to others. I have experienced chaos in life and for those who know me, they can’t stop wondering how I have not only survived but thrived in spite of the chaos. Now let’s go.

First is I decided that I was going to put everything before the Lord on whom I chose to trust. I was told to expect good from Him and not chaos when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I had read through the Bible not for intellectual knowledge but for relationship with God so I had seen how people of old related with Him one on one.

My soul was fixed on God and I saw Him as the only Person who can understand me and correct anything that has gone wrong. So I chose to vex my anger on Him and talked to Him like a little child would talk to an earthly father if he fails to meet his promise or the child’s expectation. This anger period went on for some weeks without any change in my pain then I had a deep impression in my mind to go read the psalms.

I resisted at first but the impression overpowered my unwillingness. I bought a new bible and decided to read the psalms from chapter 1. I used every verse to fight God because what I was reading about God was contrary to my experience and by Psalm 20, I had an impression on my mind again to go to the gospels. I went to buy a new bible again and I was led to the gospel of John. When I got to John 3:16, my mind was fixed on it and I discovered that God’s purpose for me is eternal and not lifetime limited. He told me that whatever He allows has my eternal good in focus. I appreciated that life continues beyond my existence here. That gave me peace and has been my peace since.

The summary of sustained peace in a chaotic world is to set your mind and thoughts on God and go freely to Him for explanations to your pains, confusions and the chaos around.
